Going out with makeup can easily boost your confidence, but removing it afterwards is no easy task. If you're not careful enough, you might be making several makeup removing mistakes. And it's not something you can ignore! Failure to remove makeup completely can lead to various skin, or even eyes problems. In the morning you might notice the makeup residue left on your face, and it's certainly not a good sight. Leftover makeup can also leave stains on your pillow cover, and cause bacteria to grow in it. EW!
Now, it's not too late to learn about those makeup removing mistakes. Learn these common mistakes below and see which habit you might have to change.
1. Using only cleanser
Cleanser; whether it's oil, cream, milk, or gel, would do a great job cleaning your face from makeup. However, it's not designed to remove eye makeup. Your eyes need gentler remover, and even if that means spending extra bucks to get another product, it is something you need.
2. Removing your eye makeup the wrong way
Makeup erasing routine doesn't have to be rigorous. Especially if you're removing your eye makeup. Again, eye area is noticeably more sensitive than your facial skin. Rubbing and pulling it won't do the trick; instead you'd be left with irritated eyes or wrinkles. The most effective way? Soak your pad in eye makeup remover then gently blot the makeup away. If you're putting on mascara, try pressing the pad on for a few seconds. And remember! Grab a new pad once it's covered by your makeup. The same rule applies if you're using a pad to remove the makeup on your face.
3. Using DIY remover
We understand you want to go all natural, and save a few bucks while you're doing so, but making your own makeup remover from "recipes" you get online isn't the best way. You can end up suffering from a serious allergic reaction, or worsening skin condition. The tip? Before changing your makeup remover, try to buy the smallest size possible (or if available, ask for samples. Korean brands tend to give out free samples, even if you buy online), and try it on before committing yourself to the new brand.
4. Not paying attention to the instruction
Most makeup removers work the same way, yes, but there are some that work differently. Have you tried reading the instruction on the back of the packaging? Also, you'd need different kind of makeup remover if you're using waterproof makeup. Be careful so that you don't buy the wrong one! Pro tip: if your makeup remover comes in a bottle, make sure to shake it before using it. Again, read the instruction!
5. Not cleansing it thoroughly
Oh, how obvious, you might have thought. But, wait! There are a few things you need to keep in mind.
First, a makeup wipe would come in handy if you're putting on light makeup while you're travelling. It doesn't mean, you can use it daily; especially if you have a perfectly working cleanser at your cabinet. Take your time, and try to use less makeup wipe.
Second, your face is just as important as your eyes and lips. Use an appropriate cleaning product to remove foundation, powder, or anything you put on your face.
Third, remove the makeup on your hairline. We can't stress this enough! You'd end up with bad breakouts if you fail to do so. This also applies to your neck and jaw line. Again, the key is being thorough.
6. Skipping the after-care
Now that you're done with the makeup removal (yayy!), you need to move on to the next, equally important step. After all, it's called makeup regime because it's made up from several different steps. Some brands sell them in packages; mostly it comes in three or more products. You can buy them, or if you're feeling thrifty, you can always get the most important product out of them all: moisturizer. Just because you're using oil-based remover, it doesn't mean you don't need to moisturize your skin afterward.

Leggings are arguably one of the most comfortable outfits the world has ever seen, but myths about leggings have somehow prevented some from wearing it. Now, don't get me wrong. Those things shouldn't stop you from going out in leggings. In fact, below we have debunked such myths, and hopefully, by the end of the article you are fully convinced that leggings deserve a special spot on your closet. Check them out below!
1. Leggings are not exactly pants
This is perhaps the most mistaken misconception. Still not convinced? You may need to browse the Internet for the definition of pants. According to Merriam-Webster, pants are defined as "an outer garment covering each leg separately and usually extending from the waist to the ankle." What does this makes leggings then? Good answer, pants.
2. Leggings are not proper for going outside, unless you're going to the gym
Well, yes, in a sense. Leggings are perfect for going to the gym, but there are plenty of leggings that you can actually wear outside. Take Adidas 3 Stripes Leggings as an example. They're comfy, fashionable, and won't cost you more than $35. Rather than struggling with a pair of stiff jeans just to run an errand or grocery shopping, wouldn't it be much better if you can just jump into a pair of leggings? Basically, yes, you can go outside in leggings; but you need to make sure your leggings are suitable for different occasions. Plus, they're comfortable, so I don't see why not?
3. You won't look sophisticated in leggings
Uhhmm, no. I beg to differ. Have you seen this Captain Crop Tight from Alala, or this High Times Pant by Lululemon? Or perhaps this Spacedye Interlooped High Waisted Capri Legging from Beyond Yoga? You'd be surprised that even leggings can be fashionable. P.S: They're also all over the runways.
4. You are too exposed when wearing leggings
Actually, there are many different ways you can wear leggings. Surprise, surprise! If you're not confident with the shape of your derriere, or just your backside in general, you can pair your leggings with a long dress shirt or even a mini dress! But again, if you're feeling confident in your body; feel free to show it off! And also, if you're worried about underwear lines, you can swap your panties for thongs, which is just as acceptable.
5. Not everyone can wear leggings
This myth is mostly based on a biased view on body types. Repeat after me, all body types are beautiful. Just because people say a certain body type can't wear leggings, it doesn't mean it's true! There is such a wide range of sizes available, so really, who can stop you from wearing them? The definition of the word flattering can often be misleading, but you can stay true to yourself. Wear what you want to wear, and don't let anyone stop you.
Those are the five debunked myths about leggings. Again, we can't emphasize this enough: whatever you choose to wear, wear it confidently!

Chemistry may not be your favorite school subject, but don't let the title fool you. There are plenty of hydrogen peroxide uses in daily life, but the substance itself isn't some kind of dangerous chemical mixture. In fact, hydrogen peroxide is a natural substance found in all living things, and is nothing more than oxygen and water in form of a liquid. However, you'll be surprised to know that it can treat diseases, fight infection and neutralize germs. No wonder, hydrogen peroxide is labeled as the "world safest sanitizer". Now, let's see how we can use this nature's gift in our daily life.
1. Whiten your clothes
Skip the bleach, and instead add one cup of hydrogen peroxide to your wash. Plus, you get to clean your washing machine at the same time.
2. Remove bacteria from fruits and vegetables
To make sure your fruits and vegetables are healthy and hygienic, soak them in a bowl of cold water mixed with ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide. Products that are hyper-absorbent should be wiped with hydrogen peroxide and water solution.
3. Clean your dishes
If you're using a dishwasher, you can put two ounces of hydrogen peroxide into your dishwasher detergent for a more thorough cleaning.
4. Disinfect wound
Though hydrogen peroxide can be used to disinfect wound, it should not be your number one choice. If possible, use mild, natural soap or other disinfectant around. Only use hydrogen peroxide when there's no other choice.
5. All-round mouth care
Hydrogen peroxide can freshen your breath and serve as a toothpaste solution at the same time. Mix fresh water and hydrogen peroxide equally to make your own homemade mouthwash. There are also recipes available online on how you can make your own hydrogen peroxide-based toothpastes.
6. Treat infections
Since hydrogen peroxide is anti-microbial, you can treat infections, such as toenail infections, using it. Soaking your feet in a mixture of warm water and hydrogen peroxide can quicken the healing process.
7. Multipurpose cleaner
By adding two parts of hydrogen peroxide to one part of your current liquid soap, you can use the solution to clean basically anything. Talk about magic!
8. Color your hair
We know this sounds weird, but remember when we said that hydrogen peroxide can serve as a bleaching agent? The same substance can be used to highlight your hair. But remember to test it on a small chunk of hair first.
9. Clean bathroom essentials
You can remove toilet bowl rings and remove stains from your old shower curtain using hydrogen peroxide. To remove toilet bowl rings, pour half a cup of hydrogen peroxide in the bowl, leave it for 20 minutes then wipe. To brighten your shower curtain, soak it in a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water. On top of it, you can also use hydrogen peroxide to wipe your bathroom mirror clean.
10. Clean your humidifier
Try using hydrogen peroxide to sanitize your humidifier; you can either mix it with water and run the mixture through the machine or clean each part separately.
11. Clean your contact lenses
While this is possible, first you need to inform yourself how to do it. Remember, only use hydrogen peroxide as a substitute if you're running out of contact lens cleaner.
12. Deodorize and sanitize
It's been proven that hydrogen peroxide can eliminate foul odor. You can also use it to sanitize kids' toys, but remember to properly dry them before storing it.
13. Garden uses
Fun fact: hydrogen peroxide can help your plants grow better! Mixing 32 parts of water to one part hydrogen peroxide can help deliver oxygen to plants' roots, and as the result, your plants grow faster and stronger. Hydrogen peroxide can also be used to prevent root rot and fungus formation. The recipe: ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 1 gallon of water. Put it in a spray bottle, and ta-da! Now you have your own homemade anti-fungal garden spritzer.
14. Clean old cooking pans
If you're a fan of baking, you may notice that pans tend to change color after being used for a long time. Sprinkle baking soda then add some hydrogen peroxide and more baking soda on the pan. Then wait until you can rub the gunk off.
