Admit it, we all have a love-hate relationship with Christmas sweaters! While it's true that they're comfy and make you feel like home, some Christmas sweaters are just…ugly. But don't worry! The mini Christmas sweater ornaments will now allow you to stop wearing the sweaters altogether, and yet, still feel the signature festivity from the particular clothing. And let's be real, at one point, we purposefully wear ugly Christmas sweaters just for the sake of it. Also, the ugliness is no longer embarrassing; it's just comical.
There are many ways you can make the mini Christmas sweater ornaments:
1. The simplest one, would be, the cutout method.
All you need to do is make a sweater template and place it on a wool or felted fabric. Next, cut out the sweater shapes then using a fabric stiffener, stiffen the fabric. After it's dried and firm, stick some decorative stickers or craft to make your own version of the Christmas sweater. You can even buy small hangers (you can get them at the craft store in the doll or miniature section), or make your own using paper clips or malleable wire (8 or 16 gauge wire bent with nose pliers) then attach it behind the sweater to make it look twice cuter!
2. If you want your sweater ornament to look more real, you can try knitting your own mini sweaters.
Of course, the process would take longer and it's definitely not easy to knit small-sized sweaters. But apparently, it's just like any other normal knitting – as long as you have the pattern! You can find the free pattern here.
3. Finally, you can crotchet your own mini Christmas sweater.
Keep in mind, however, that when we said mini, it's not as small as the previous two (cutout and knitted sweaters). But, it can still be a cute decoration, or even, a fancy Christmas outfit for your dolls! You can view the detailed tutorial here or check out the video below:
